The World’s Largest Consumer Electronics Store

Following the success of Saturn Express in Austria, in December 2018 we launched our mobile self-checkout solution in Saturn in Hamburg, Germany; the world’s largest consumer electronics store. At 18,000 square metres, the store is by far the largest store deployment we have completed to date.

The app we created is Saturn Smartpay, and it allows customers in the Hamburg store to scan and pay for their shopping using their mobile phones. This significantly reduces the checkout time for shoppers, whilst enabling the retailer to display additional product information to the user that otherwise might not be able to be transmitted in the store. It also means Saturn can instantly update product prices and promotional messaging.

We have already achieved some outstanding results in the store.
